Tracer Wire

Copperhead® copper-clad steel (CCS) tracer wire is a bimetal wire with a steel core and copper cladding. The two metals are metallurgically bonded together with heat and pressure making them inseparable after the cladding process is complete. CCS offers the strength of steel with the conductivity of copper, providing utilities an intelligent alternative to solid copper tracer wire.

All Copperhead® tracer wire is insulated with a durable, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) jacket specifically designed for direct bury.

Meeting the Highest Quality Standard for Tracer Wire

Specifying tracer wire that meets ASTM B1010 is the best measure you can take to protect against corrosion, breakage, defects, and imperfections that can lead to unlocatables. Make sure to ask your tracer wire manufacturer for a ‘Declaration of Conformance to ASTM B1010’ to ensure that the highest quality standard is protecting your underground assets.
